or anything like a sailboat, everybody calls it prop walk

When that propeller is spinning like this, it's always gonna be moving or pushing the boat

in a specific direction. Same thing with an outboard. If you have a single engine

if you're just sitting there in gear, generally that rotation like this

is going to make the boat turn like that. So when you put two engines on the boat

and if they were both right-handed, that boat is going to tend to steer to the right

And then if you put a left-handed or a counterclockwise propeller on the other side

so now you've got two of them going like this, that's going to help you move straight

and track straight in the water
