Proven Way to Restore a 1993 Boat Gelcoat

Using a rotary polisher with a wool pad, I ran Presta Super Cut over the wet-sanded areas. I then applied straight compound over sections that didn’t need sanding. This is where the real transformation happens during gelcoat cleaning—dull, faded gelcoat starts showing actual reflection again. Heat is the enemy here too; around 106°F, the compound started burning on the pad, making it harder to work.
